Location: Yokohama Technical Center (Yokohama, Japan)

Work Schedule: 5 working days per week; Flexible working hours (7 hours 45 minutes)

Job Description:

You will be involved in various products and manufacturing processes, and you will work on problem solving at AGC group in the ASEAN region. Initially, you will work in Japan and acquire skills in mathematical optimization. In the future, we envision you working at our group companies in Thailand or other ASEAN countries.

Daily Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Use mathematical optimization and operations research to define and resolve various business challenges such as optimization problems.
  • Develop algorithms in-house and deploy them as internal products.
  • Engage in research, development, education, and popularization activities for mathematical optimization technology.
  • Utilize optimization techniques for various purposes such as automating production planning, streamlining logistics, and improving product processing yield rate.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education Background: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Information Engineering, Computational Science, Data Science or related fields
    Language Ability: English: Business level, Japanese: JLPT N2, Thai: Native level

Required Qualifications:

  • Programming experience in either Python, Rust, or C++
  • University-level mathematical knowledge and the enthusiasm to utilize new technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and skills in either statistics, machine learning, or data analysis.
  • Competitive programming contest results (equivalent to AtCoder blue rank or higher).
  • Experience in high-speed programming in either Rust, C++, or C.
