Available Position 1= Geo-technical and Tunnel Engineer

Mott MacDonald is currently recruiting a Geo-technical / Tunnel Engineer to work in our Transport Sector.  Our geotechnical / tunnel engineering skills are well represented on several high-profile projects and tenders in Singapore, around Asia Pacific and other regions, including the North South Corridor, High-Speed Rail in UK, Jakarta MRT and other large infrastructure projects.

You will be part of a dynamic team, working together within multi-disciplinary teams involved in a range of geotechnical / tunnelling projects, and to ensure the development of the business and its members. This role is office based however there will be a requirement to undertake site visits and attend client meetings.

As part of the role, key responsibilities will include:

• Be involved in the delivery of a wide range of engineering projects including deep excavations, MRT/metro and other projects.
• Produce and outline detailed geotechnical / tunnel design documentation, including reports, engineering sketches, engineering calculations, technical specifications, and tender documentation.
• Provide support to writing project proposals and business development.
• Having an appreciation of the roles of fellow professionals on multidisciplinary projects and interfacing and coordinating with them appropriately.
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of current technical standards and practices and taking a ‘hands on’ role in technical matters.
• A role in driving to digital strategy within civil engineering.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in civil / geotechnical engineering from an accredited university
  3 to 4 years’ experience
• Computer literate and familiar with digital technology, strong written and oral communication ability both Thai and English
  Tunnelling and Underground structures for transportation
• Familiar with latest design software packages (Plaxis, Strand7, and others) and general geotechnical and tunnel support design is preferable
• Experienced in cut-and-cover structure design.
• Specialisation tunnels and tunnelling during university studies or during work experience is advantageous.
• Self-motivated, analytical with a learning mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication & presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent written communication with great attention to detail.
• A digital aptitude, strong learning mindset and interest to commit to driving social and sustainable outcomes.
• Collaborative, open, and constructive approach.
• A team player who is enthusiastic, driven and committed.

• Experience in renewable energy / power projects is a plus.

• Keen interest in renewable energy and have good understanding of trend and nature of business.
