Q1 In-Focus

“The beginning is the most important part of the work,” Plato once said. This statement holds especially true for the AIT Career Center as we stepped into 2025 with renewed purpose and direction.
Reflecting on the previous year, we laid out a comprehensive plan aimed at introducing key improvements, new initiatives, and meaningful activities. Despite challenges, uncertainties, and limited resources, we remained committed to executing our structured vision for the year.
In the first quarter of 2025, our efforts centered around three major milestones:
  1. The launch of interactive features on the Career Center website
  2. Engaging career talks in collaboration with SG Innovate and Indorama Ventures
  3. The successful staging of the AIT Career Fair 2025

These initiatives mark a promising start to what we envision as a transformative year for the AIT Career Center.

Career Center Website Interactive Features

In the first quarter of 2025, the AIT Career Center took a significant step forward by enhancing the Career Center website, thanks to the collaborative efforts of our dedicated team. Beyond refining the website’s interface, our primary objective was to make it more interactive and user-friendly—ensuring a seamless experience for both students and employers.

This upgrade reflects our renewed commitment to empowering AIT students through personalized, comprehensive career services that build skills, boost confidence, and increase global employability. These efforts align with the Career Center’s broader vision: to serve as a central hub for equipping students with the tools, resources, and networks needed to pursue successful, fulfilling careers.

For employers seeking to connect with AIT talent, the website now features an easy-to-use “Post a Job” form, allowing for efficient job opportunity submissions for review and publication on our Job Board. Additionally, employers or organizations wishing to engage with our students through various means may use the general inquiries form for faster communication.

One of the most exciting features of the upgraded website is the appointment booking system, which allows students to select their preferred time slots and career coaches. This makes it easier for them to access career counseling tailored to their specific needs. The services currently offered include:

  1. Career Goals Planning Counseling. A vital service designed to help students clarify their aspirations, define their career pathways, and develop actionable strategies to reach their goals.
  2. Leadership and Personal Development Program. A structured set of activities, workshops, and coaching sessions designed to help group of students grow both as effective leaders and as self-aware, goal-oriented professionals with focus on cultivating both intrapersonal and interpersonal skills.
  3. Career Skills and Preparedness Program. This initiative equips students with both hard and soft skills essential for today’s competitive job market. It focuses on developing technical expertise alongside critical interpersonal and adaptive skills.
  4. CV and Cover Letter Writing Assistance. A step-by-step service that helps students craft professional and compelling job application documents, highlighting their qualifications, strengths, and experiences effectively.
  5. Mock Job Interview Program. A practical, supportive experience designed to prepare students for real-world interviews. Through simulated sessions, students gain confidence, improve their responses, and learn how to present themselves professionally.
  6. Overcoming Obstacles to Achieve Goals. This coaching session focuses on identifying internal and external barriers and developing strategies to overcome them. It empowers students to build resilience and transform challenges into growth opportunities.
  7. Career Events. Students can participate in—or volunteer for—career fairs, talks, and forums that serve as valuable networking platforms. These events provide insights into industry trends and career pathways while connecting students with employers and professionals.

With these developments, the AIT Career Center reaffirms its role as a proactive partner in our students’ professional growth, ensuring they are equipped and confident to meet the demands of the global workforce.

Career Talks with SGInnovate and Indorama Ventures

In the first quarter of 2025, the AIT Career Center successfully organized two impactful Career Talks aimed at broadening students’ perspectives on career opportunities in innovation and industry.

The first session featured SGInnovate, a Singapore government-backed innovation platform focused on advancing deep technology. SGInnovate’s flagship talent programs provide multiple pathways to meaningful careers within the deep tech startup ecosystem. Held online, the session drew over 50 enthusiastic participants who gained insights into the platform’s modular training programs and professional development opportunities in the deep tech sector.

Shortly thereafter, a second Career Talk was held in collaboration with Indorama Ventures, a leading global chemical company. This session focused on three key areas:

  1. The career journey of an AIT alumnus who is currently contributing to the company’s sustainability initiatives
  2. An in-depth discussion on global talent acquisition, offering students a broader understanding of recruitment strategies within a multinational context
  3. An overview of the Indorama Ventures International Internship Program, highlighting the structure, opportunities, and application process

The event concluded with a dynamic Q&A segment, where students actively engaged with the speaker to further explore potential career paths and internship opportunities.

These sessions are part of our continued effort to connect students with industry leaders and provide them with valuable exposure to diverse career possibilities.

AIT Career Fair 2025 Highlights

The AIT Career Fair 2025 was successfully held on 26 March 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the RBB Auditorium. The event attracted 433 visitors and featured 27 participating companies representing a broad spectrum of industries, including insurance, transportation, artificial intelligence and information technology, consumer electronics, real estate, cybersecurity, the chemical industry, construction, and manufacturing, among others.

The event began with a warm welcome from AIT President, Prof. Pai-Chi Li, followed by a token of appreciation presented to each company representative. Prof. Manukid Parnichkun, Vice President for Academic & Research, delivered the opening remarks, expressing gratitude to the companies, students, and organizers who made the event possible.

A notable highlight of this year’s fair was the introduction of Huneety, an online talent-matching platform that supported the event by facilitating virtual connections between students and participating companies. Through Huneety, students were able to explore job opportunities, submit applications, and match with potential employers more efficiently—enhancing the digital engagement aspect of the fair.

Another key feature was the Student Research Exhibition, where 15 AIT students showcased their research prototypes. This platform allowed students to present innovative work to industry professionals, encouraging dialogue around research collaboration, talent discovery, and innovation.

The afternoon was enlivened by team-organized games and concluded with an awarding ceremony for the Research Exhibition participants, recognizing their creativity and contributions.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Based on 432 survey responses, 78% rated the event as excellent. Suggestions for future improvements included increasing the event space and exploring collaboration opportunities with nearby universities—recommendations the Career Center is actively reviewing.

Overall, the AIT Career Fair 2025 was a successful blend of physical interaction and digital innovation, underscoring the Career Center’s ongoing commitment to connecting students with the evolving world of work and continuously improving the quality of career services.

As we conclude the first quarter of 2025, the AIT Career Center is proud of the solid progress made toward enhancing student engagement, strengthening industry connections, and improving service delivery. From launching new interactive features on our website to hosting meaningful career talks and a successful Career Fair, each initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to empower AIT students for the global job market. With the lessons learned and feedback received, we are inspired to carry this momentum into the next quarter—continuing to innovate, collaborate, and deliver impactful career development programs.
