Position: Web-GIS Development Intern

The Geoinformatics Center (GIC) of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is seeking new interns for GIS-related software development. The duration of the internship period will be approximately two months starting from 20th April 2022. The internship would provide students opportunities to work in a dynamic GIS firm and develop further skills in web development for research purposes.

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (AIT students or graduates preferred) in science, engineering, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of GIS and geospatial data.

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Python programming
  • Web application development (HTML/CSS/JS).
  • Familiar with web application frameworks (ReactJS and Django)
  • Basic knowledge of version control (Git and GitHub)
  •  Good communicator with the ability to speak, write and read effectively in English
  • Self-motivated, keen to learn more about GIS and related

Responsibilities:

  • To develop web-GIS applications focusing on front-end and/or back-end use
  • Design, develop, maintain, and improve current web applications
  • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
