center of our work across energy transition, climate finance, public health, sustainable food
systems, economic equity and South-South Cooperation.
The Foundation’s Asia Regional Office (ARO) works to amplify the impact of the Foundation’s
work by supporting global teams, cultivating strategic partnerships, and building thought
leadership in the region. Key activities to achieve this include providing real-time intelligence
and strategic advisory, continuously strengthening networks of influencers and institutions
across the region, and conducting communication activities targeting key stakeholders.
The ARO is now seeking Interns with curiosity, creativity, passion for creating social impact
through partnerships to help achieve the Foundation’s impact goals. In particular, the ARO is
seeking an intern able to help conduct sectoral research, track developments, identify
institutions and solutions key to Foundation strategies in the region, and support strategic
communication.

personally and professionally and impact the philanthropic sector. As an Intern at The
Rockefeller Foundation, you will have the chance to contribute to our initiatives through
engaging in meaningful work assignments.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The Intern will support ARO team members advancing the Foundation’s strategies in Asia,
including research, monitoring, partnership support, content development and analysis, and
other tasks as required. Specifically, the Intern will:
Lead the development of position papers on 1) heat stress 2) carbon markets 3)
cooling. The purpose of thee papers is to define the present status, key issues,
organisations active in the region and ways for the Foundation to engage.

Monitor developments in the clean energy, and development finance sectors at
regional level and in targeted Asian countries, including China, India, Indonesia,
Phillippines and Thailand .
Research specific issues, organizations and stakeholders relevant to the Foundation’s
work.
Support to organization of key Foundation events in the region including the Asia
Week planned for early October 2023.
Support planning and execution of ARO regional partners, including liaising with
partners, facilitating knowledge sharing, and supporting events.
Support to Foundation and AIT activities as organized under its existing MOU, and
funded programs, as needed.
Assisting in any other roles as assigned by the Foundation.

Education, Experience and Skills
Currently enrolled in a graduate program in one of the following areas: International
Relations, International Development, Sustainable Development, Energy Transistion,
or related fields.
Strong research and analytical capabilities; able to think strategically about
opportunities to advance the Foundation’s strategies and partnerships.
Collaborative, innovative, eager to learn, and interested in creating and executing
strategies while working alongside partners.
Must be proactive, able multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced
environment.
A strategic problem-solver capable of steering cross-functional collaborations and
producing high-quality deliverables.
Strong writing and visual communication skills.
