The Rockefeller Foundation is seeking an intern for 2021. We will explore opportunities for unleashing the full potential of distributed renewable energy systems such as mini- grids, grid-connected distributed generation and storage, rooftop solutions for commercial and industrial clusters, and stand-alone productive-use appliances in Indonesia and/or the Philippines. We are seeking an intern with capabilities in research, communications, and strategy capabilities to support this effort.

As an Intern at The Rockefeller Foundation you will have the chance to contribute to our initiatives through engaging, meaningful work assignments. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Support the Power and Climate Initiative in its research and analysis of challenges and opportunities in scaling distributed renewable energy solutions in Indonesia and the Philippines
  • Assist the team in the producing briefs including briefing memos, reports, blogs and knowledge products. 

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Internship are open to non-Thai and Thai currently-enrolled graduate or post-graduate students only
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Currently-enrolled graduate or post-graduate students in one of the following areas: business, energy, environment, public policy, international relations, or a related discipline. 
  • Interest or experience working in the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities; able to think strategically about opportunities to advance The Foundation’s policy and advocacy work around energy access and poverty reduction. 
  • Strong writing and editing skills; strong attention to detail. 
  • Collaborative, innovative, eager to learn, and interested in how Foundation’s create and execute strategies working alongside partners.  
  • Must be a proactive self-starter. 
  • Able to multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 

The selected candidates who have successfully completed an internship will receive a certificate stating the period of the internship.

Term and Conditions:

  1. The Rockefeller Foundation will pay a stipend to the selected interns.
  2. All other expenses connected with the internship, such as travel costs, travel arrangements, and living accommodation, are the responsibility of the intern or the sponsoring institution.
  3. The Rockefeller Foundation will not accept any responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during an internship and the intern, therefore, should have a health insurance coverage.
  4. This position is for the internship only and does not imply future long-term employment of the Foundation.
