“Internship at Merck SEA6 has been an amazing experience for me. It was an opportunity for me to work for the Head of Commercial Excellence, and I have learned not only business management from him, but also many essential soft skills. Aside from the opportunity to work closely with the senior management, colleagues at Merck SEA6 have been extremely helpful and supportive. It was a wonderful experience to work in such a diverse international work environment.”
I was given the opportunity to take an internship at Unilever Life, which has changed many perspectives within myself. I got to learn from many different people, especially my mentor K. Ekachai. Everything that was taught basically focused on building myself in becoming an entrepreneur in the future, that is my intention after all. Despite all the knowledge and experience given, even pushing me out of my comfort zone and turning into a new person, the best thing that I learned about is the connections and networking that we can build to help one another through different parts of our lives. We don’t always have to be the smartest person in the room, but we need to know who to contact whenever a problem occurs. So, I am very glad to have taken the internship here and satisfied with the outcome.
My internship at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has been one of the biggest highlights of my career. I am grateful for getting an opportunity to work in a global environment with colleagues from diverse background. The internship experience has been a huge learning curve for me. Media and Communications has always been my passion and, now, utilizing my skills to advocate and work for migrant rights has given me a new purpose and sense of direction.
“The six months (May-Nov 2021) internship at the Climate Change Resilience department at the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) provided me with an opportunity to get involved in the Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CARE) for the South Asia project. My major tasks were identifying groundwater storage in Punjab, Sindh and Baluchistan province of Pakistan, evaluating surface water storage through different satellite products, and spatial data generated from the different climatic models. This opportunity has helped me improve my knowledge of groundwater, various satellite products, and the availability of surface water storage using Google Earth Engine and Python, which has given me confidence in applying what I’ve learned in my research. I want to thank the ADPC team and my mentors Dr. Senaka Basnayake, Director, Climate Change & Resilience and Dr. Niladri Gupta, Senior Water Resources Management Specialist, for providing me with this wonderful opportunity”.
My internship is at Hitachi Energy in Thailand and I learned about sales and management of electrical equipment such as procedure of tender transmission/distribution lines and accessories, sales and services of electrical equipment and installation of capacitor bank. Moreover, I studied about Gas Insulated high voltage switch gear. Hitachi Energy has always been drive innovation in GIS technology in ratings, operations, switching technology, smart control and supervision, and compactness. As a result, Hitachi Energy’s GIS offers outstanding reliability, operational safety and environmental compatibility. Last but not least, I would like to thank AIT and AIT Career Center for sharing this invaluable internship opportunity and organizing Virtual Career Tik Talks sessions.
I applied an internship opportunity at Regional Resource Center for Asia and the Pacific (RRC.AP) during my last semester at AIT. I attained the chance to participate at Climate Change Cluster of the RRC.AP as an intern from May 2020 to July 2020. The main duty of this internship was to develop a climate fact sheet, which can support planning, project concept/ proposal development, and a wide variety of other tasks related to climate change adaption. I was assigned to prepare climate fact sheet for Malaysia and obtained knowledge related to climate change mitigation and adaption measures, especially National Adaption Plans, National Determined Contributions and National Communications during the internship. Furthermore, all interns had to conduct knowledge sharing program related to their assigned countries. It also enhanced my knowledge regarding climate change mitigation and adaption measures, implemented in Asia and the Pacific Region. I would like to thank AIT Career Center for sharing this invaluable internship opportunity and organizing career events like Career Fair and Career Talk. Currently, I am serving as an EIA Consultant at E Guard Environmental Services, Myanmar for safeguarding and conserving our environment.
I am really thankful to AIT for organizing a Career Fair. It was a great opportunity to meet Mr. Michael Ouya, the head of Pond management of Victory Farms who was impressed with my master’s thesis on Biopolymeric Based Multilayered Encapsulation System for Slow Release of Fertilizers. After few rounds of interviews, I was selected as an intern. It is a great opportunity be a part of the Team @ Victory Fram. It was
impossible without my advisor Prof. Anil Kumar Anal at the department of FAB(FEBT). Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.
