Hokkaido Summer Institute 2019 [Hokkaido University, JAPAN]

The season for the Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI) is approaching once again! More than 160 world-leading researchers from overseas will gather at Hokkaido University (HU) next summer for the HSI, which was established in 2016 and provides lectures with the university’s faculty members for four months during the summer.

Last summer, more than 1,700 students joined the HSI to study a wide range of disciplines from literature to engineering. The university continues to expand the program, and for HSI 2019 there will be 139 courses (116 graduate courses and 23 undergraduate courses) from June 3rd to October 18th, 2019.

Tuition fee will be waived for students who enrolled in the program as exchange students from HU’s partner institutions with which HU has concluded a memorandum of understanding on mutual tuition waivers.

Shinkishi Hatai International Marine Biology Course 2019

The Research Center for Marine Biology, Tohoku University will hold the Shinkishi Hatai International Marine Biology Course 2019 from July 18th to 24th, 2019 at our institute in Aomori, Japan.

This program is supported by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

The course is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are majoring in biology, life science and related fields, with particular focus on developmental biology and meiobenthology, and its purpose is to provide them with experiences with basic experiments and practices.

Some of the participants will be Japanese students; therefore, it will be a good opportunity for the students to deepen their exchanges with each other. Experience with handling marine invertebrates is not necessary.

TOEIC Test on 12 October 2018 (Friday), 1:00 pm, Rm B-108, AITCC

Greetings from the AIT Career Center!

 We are pleased to announce that the TOEIC Test (for Reading and Listening) at AIT for August 2018 Semester is scheduled on 12 October 2018 (Friday) from 13:00 – 17:00 hrs at Room B-108, AIT Conference Center.

The TOEIC test questions are based on real-life work settings in an international environment (meetings, travel, telephone conversations, etc). The Test is used by organizations to determine whether an employee is suitable for a particular task. If you work or want to work for a large organization, particularly in Asia, then the TOEIC test will be useful to you.

The schedule of registration, payment method, confirmation of payment and TOEIC preparation course are given below:

Online Registration : 1 – 5 October 2018

Payment for TOEIC Test :  1 – 5 October 2018 (last day on 5 October, 16:00 hrs); Payment (by cash) at Career Center thru  Ms.Tiparatana , AIT Admin Building during office hours

12 October 2018 (Friday) : TOEIC Test at Room B-108, AITCC from 13:00 – 17:00 hrs

Price for students is 700 baht (from 1,500 baht) and for current AIT staff is 1,000 baht (from 1,500 baht).

Lastly, please note that a minimum of 25 students is needed for this test to be administered in AIT.
