Coding Contest for Job Opportunities in Japan

The ASIA to JAPAN, a company based in Japan that connects job seekers from different countries to global Japanese companies looking for exceptional talents. On November 20, 2020, the company has launched a coding contest: CODE TO JAPAN.

Background of the contest

A lot of Japanese companies face the problems of the lack of the talented engineers and are constantly looking for talented engineers all over the world. At the same time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic there are fewer job opportunities all over the world. IT students and engineers alike can find job opportunities in Japan through the contest. The contest will broaden the job opportunities for your students even for those who cannot speak Japanese.

Test Category: Challenge Types: “Algorithms Challenge” / “AI Challenge”

Prizes:

  1. 50,000 JPY for 1st place, 30,000 JPY for 2nd place, 10,000 JPY for 3rd place per test category.
  2. High performers will have a chance to interview with Japanese companies that will lead them to a job offer in Japan.
  3. All participants will be awarded a certificate of participation.

Prerequisites:

  • ANYONE who can do coding and want to work in Japan
  • Japanese level does not matter

  • Own car and can travel to work in other provinces

  • Computer literacy, Microsoft Office programs, Thomas Globe

  • Annual holidays (work for 1 year, can work 10 days, work for 5 years, can be 15 days)

Télécoms Sans Frontières’s Volunteer Programme (Information Session), September 16, 2020 (Wed), 2:30pm in Room E-117, SERD Building

AIT- partner, Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF) is an NGO specialized in emergency telecommunications which deploys during humanitarian crises. TSF sets up connections (Internet and voice) at the heart of areas struck by wars, natural disasters or man-made catastrophes, serving both the affected population and relief organizations. For emergency deployments, TSF sends teams composed of TSF staffs, and volunteers who have been previously trained on TSF equipments and procedures. The existing partnership between Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and TSF has already enabled many AIT students and staffs to engage in TSF activities, and to be deployed on disaster response with TSF in Asia Pacific.

TSF will conduct an information session on Wednesday, September 16th, 2020 during 14:30 – 15:30 hrs. BKK in Room E-117, 1st flr, SERD Building and via Zoom (ID and Passcode will be informed after registering).
