ORGANIZATION 1: STOCKHOLM ENVIRONMENT INSTITUTE (SEI)

About SEI: Stockholm Environment Institute: Bridging Science and Policy. SEI, is an international non-profit research and policy organization that tackles environment and development challenges. It is a foundation registered under Swedish law with offices in seven countries. They connect science and decision-making to develop solutions for a sustainable future for all. The SEI work spans climate, water, air and land-use issues, governance, the economy, gender and health.

Ms. Chinnarat Buttho

Human Resources Specialist 

Speaker Profile: 

As the Human Resources (HR) Specialist, Ms. Chinnarat provides guidance and support to employees and management at SEI’s Asia Centre, including recruitment and selection, equity and diversity, work environment, local labour laws, performance management and training and development. Prior to joining SEI, Ms. Chinnarat was responsible for HR with the International Rescue Committee and Oxfam Great Britain. Ms. Chinnarat has a Master’s Degree in Political Science, International Affairs and Diplomacy, from Thammasat University.

ORGANIZATION 2: ASIA CLEAN ENERGY PARTNERS (ACE)

About  ACE:  Asia Clean Energy (ACE) Partners is an international consultancy that supports the design and scale-up of effective clean energy initiatives, with a focus on three areas: policy and program design, project preparation, and mobilization of financial resources.

Speaker:

Mr. Peter du Pont, Managing Partner

Speaker Profile:

Mr. Du Pont  has more than 30 years’ experience developing sustainable energy and climate programs in the U.S. and Asia.  He has carried out assignments related to the design, implementation, and evaluation of clean energy policy and plans, energy and climate finance, and climate change programs.  He has worked in a variety of roles consulting and managing for non-profit and private consultancies and development agencies, with a focus on energy efficiency, renewable energy, finance and market incentives, and climate change. Among other roles, he currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Asia Clean Energy Forum and Asia Regional Coordinator for the Private Financing Advisory Network (PFAN).  Dr. du Pont has a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Energy and Environmental Policy from the University of Delaware. Peter is based in Bangkok, Thailand.

ORGANIZATION 3: INTERNATIONAL UNION FOR CONSERVATION OF NATURE (IUCN)

About  IUCN: The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is the world’s largest, oldest and most diverse environmental organisation – with 91 state members and over 1,300 government agencies and non-government and civil society organisations.  It is the global authority on the status of the natural world, and the measures needed to safeguard it.

Dr. Dindo Campilan

Regional Director for Asia and Hub Director for Oceania

Speaker Profile:

Dr. Campilan leads the largest regional team in IUCN worldwide – serving 48 countries in Asia and Oceania, through a network of 16 offices and nearly 300 staff members. Based at a regional hub in Bangkok, he manages a combined project portfolio of about US$30 million annually. Dr. Campilan previously worked with United Nations agencies and CGIAR international research centres in agriculture, food and environment research and development. Prior to joining IUCN in Bangkok, he was affiliated with international organisations based in Peru and Colombia, and was posted in various countries across Asia – including India, China, Philippines, Vietnam and Myanmar. He led programmes and served as senior expert for: climate-resilient agro-ecosystems, inclusive value chains and markets, and sustainable food systems. Dr. Campilan holds a PhD in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University, The Netherlands.
